Senator Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday, July 11th.
In his press release available to newsmen in Kano, Senator Doguwa cited feelings of underutilization and the party’s implementation of policies detrimental to the public as the primary reasons for his departure.
Mas’ud El-Jibril Doguwa, who is the former factional leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano state, expressed that despite their extensive political experience, he and his colleagues were rarely involved in party forums, limiting their ability to contribute effectively to the APC’s development.
“In politics, failing to engage experienced politicians with meaningful assignments leads to their political redundancy. These politicians are then forced to seek engagement elsewhere because they cannot remain idle,” he stated.
He further criticized the APC government’s policies, deeming them harmful to ordinary citizens. “After careful evaluation, I have concluded that some of these policies are anti-people and do not align with our political ideology,” Senator Doguwa said.
“These policies are causing significant harm and concern to the ordinary citizens of the country. We do not see any hope for relief from the burdens of life under the APC’s approach.”
Senator Doguwa revealed that friends and leaders had urged him to return to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party he had helped to establish and develop. “We have decided to return to our political base, the PDP, to continue as full-fledged members,” he declared.
The senator emphasized that their decision was made without malice towards any individual or group, expressing gratitude and seeking blessings for their future endeavors.
