Kwankwaso: #EndBadGovernance Protests Politically Motivated Against Tinubu, Shettima

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has accused the organizers of the recent #EndBadGovernance protests of trying to undermine the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Kwankwaso described the protests as politically motivated and aimed at damaging the reputations of both the President and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

In a statement, Kwankwaso said, “The organizers acted out of hatred and enmity towards President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima. They aimed to incite sentiment by blaming the President and Vice President for the hunger and starvation in the country, despite inheriting a challenging situation and working to address it.”

Kwankwaso, who previously served as a commissioner under former Kano State Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, further argued that the protests failed to achieve their objectives.

He also issued a warning to Nigerian governors regarding the recent disbursement of N570 billion in federal allocations to the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Kwankwaso urged the governors to manage these funds responsibly, emphasizing the need to use them for creating employment opportunities.

“Governors should fear God because they will be held accountable if they mismanage or divert the funds for personal use,” Kwankwaso stated.

He called on the governors to prioritize the welfare of their citizens by investing the funds in initiatives that would generate employment and reduce poverty, warning that any mismanagement of the allocations would lead to serious consequences.
