Nigeria Police Respond to Viral Images of Terrorists Displaying Ransom Money

The Nigeria Police Force has responded to viral images shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, depicting terrorists, disguised as bandits and kidnappers, displaying large sums of ransom money.

The images, which were shared by security expert Zagazola Makama, sparked widespread concern and outrage among Nigerians.

One of the photographs shows a bandit sitting on a motorcycle with a rifle by his side, posing with large amounts of cash in N1000 denominations. Another image depicts the currency notes spread out on a floor, further emphasizing the audacity of the criminals involved.

In reaction to these images, the Police Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, acknowledged the difficulty of apprehending all criminals at once but assured the public that security agencies were making significant progress in their efforts to combat crime.

“We can’t apprehend all the criminals at once. At least appreciate us for the ones we have arrested. We arrest them on a daily basis, in large numbers,” Adejobi stated.

He emphasized the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the armed forces, urging Nigerians to recognize and appreciate the strides being made.

“The armed forces and the police are trying their best. Efforts of security forces should be seen, noticed, and appreciated,” he added.

ACP Adejobi also called for collective action in addressing the issue of insecurity in the country.

“We need to look towards having the collective efforts and individualistic involvement in tackling insecurity and other vices in Nigeria. One thing is sure, no criminal will go unpunished,” he said.
