Kano State Governor Abba K. Yusuf has distanced himself from a recently announced contract for the supply of drugs to the state’s 44 Local Government Councils, stating he had no prior knowledge of the deal.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, and the Director General of Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor clarified that he was unaware of the contract or the process by which it was awarded.
In light of the allegations, Governor Yusuf has instructed the Executive Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) to initiate an immediate investigation into the matter.
He urged Kano State citizens to remain patient during the investigation, assuring them that the findings will be handled with full transparency.
