Barau FC Secures Ex-Super Eagles Coach for NNL Season Preparation

Barau Football Club has announced the signing of former Super Eagles coach, Salisu Yusuf, as their new Technical Adviser.

A statement signed by the club’s media officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, revealed that Yusuf signed a one-year contract at the club’s secretariat alongside the club’s Chairman, Ambassador Ibrahim Shittu Chanji.

The experienced tactician is set to bring his wealth of experience to the team, aiming to develop them ahead of the new NNL season.

Yusuf previously worked with Kano Pillars, Enyimba FC, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Enugu Rangers in the NPFL, underlining his qualifications and commitment to excellence in both local and international football.

At the national level, Coach Salisu served as the assistant coach to Stephen Keshi and later served as the interim head coach of the Nigerian senior football team. He was reappointed as assistant coach of the Super Eagles in October 2021.

He was also in charge of the Home-based Super Eagles that reached the finals of the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations (CHAN) in Morocco.

Barau Football Club is currently preparing for the new NNL season and will participate in the Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season tournament in Jos, Plateau State, this month.
