Ismail Yusuf, an aspiring candidate for the Chairmanship of Rano Local Government under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), visited the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Umaru, at his palace today Friday.
The visit was part of Yusuf’s efforts to seek the Emir’s blessing and introduce his candidacy ahead of the upcoming October elections in Kano State.
During the visit, Alhaji Ismail Yusuf emphasized the importance of seeking the Emir’s guidance and support as he begins his campaign.
“I have come here today to seek your blessings and inform you of my intention to contest for the position of Chairman of Rano Local Government,” Yusuf stated.

The Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Umaru (Autan Bawo), acknowledged Yusuf’s visit and emphasized the importance of peaceful and fair elections, expressing hope that the future leader will prioritize the welfare of the people of Rano.
“We are pleased with your visit and commend your respect for our traditions and institutions. We pray for peace and unity in our community as we approach the elections, and we hope that whoever is chosen by the people will work for the betterment of Rano local government,” the Emir said.
As the October elections approach, Alhaji Ismail Yusuf continues to engage with various stakeholders in Rano, focusing on his development agenda, which includes education, healthcare, infrastructure, and empowerment for women and youth.
