The Lagos State Government has extended its work-from-home policy for civil servants to alleviate the challenges caused by the rising cost of living.
Earlier this year, in February, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu introduced a flexible work arrangement allowing workers on grade levels 01 to 14 to work from home two days a week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 could do so one day a week.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Bode Agoro, the Lagos State Head of Service, announced that the government has prolonged the “flexible work initiative” for another three months in response to the removal of the petrol subsidy.
“Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has magnanimously approved the extension of the flexible work-from-home initiative for an additional three (3) months with effect from September 4th to 3rd of December 2024,” the statement said.
All accounting officers were directed to comply with the circular and ensure its wide dissemination across the service.
