The Director General of the National Productivity Centre (NPC), Dr. Baffa Babba Danagundi, has urged the agency’s State Coordinators to act as anti-corruption ambassadors by reporting any instances of corruption to the nearest EFCC office.
Dr. Danagundi made this call following a working visit to the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Olanipekun Olukoyede, during which the Chairman appointed him as an Anti-Corruption Ambassador.
“In light of this appointment, I find it essential to urge all NPC state coordinators and staff to combat corruption at every level. That is why I am tasking the coordinators to serve as anti-corruption ambassadors in their respective states. This is a serious call to expose corruption. We must not fail in fulfilling the trust placed upon us,” said Danagundi.
EFCC Chairman Olanipekun Olukoyede, in acknowledging Danagundi’s past efforts in the fight against corruption, highlighted his track record as the former Managing Director of the Kano Consumer Protection Agency and KAROTA.
He noted that it was essential to appoint figures like Danagundi, given his experience in tackling corruption.
“I remember how you arrested and confiscated expired drugs and food items during your tenure. It made headlines, and we need people like you so we can work together to address this menace called corruption. It is causing significant harm to our society,” said Olukoyede.
