Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed confidence in winning the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Saturday during the inauguration of the NNPP Secretariat on IBB Way, Katsina, Kwankwaso, who was the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, reaffirmed the party’s readiness to secure the presidency and other key positions across the country in 2027.
During the visit, which also included a condolence stop to the Yar’adua family over the passing of their matriarch, Hajiya Dada, Kwankwaso stated that the NNPP is positioned for success in the upcoming elections.
In his address, Kwankwaso remarked, “I wish to remind you that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is already dead. We were once part of the PDP, but when they strayed from the right path, we chose to leave.”
He urged Nigerians, particularly women and youth, to reject any attempts to sway them with “spaghetti or money” during the next elections, emphasizing the importance of integrity in voting decisions.
Kwankwaso also encouraged party leaders to intensify their efforts in ensuring the NNPP’s success at both the state and national levels, commending stakeholders for the renovation of the Katsina State secretariat as part of their preparations for victory.
In a gesture of goodwill, the NNPP leader pledged his support to Abubakar Ibrahim, a young boy from the Yammawa area of Katsina, who is suffering from severe acute malnutrition.
The NNPP State Chairman, Alhaji Armaya’u Abdulkadir, also addressed party members, stressing the need for increased public awareness of the party’s new logo, which symbolizes the party’s commitment to education for all, a key focus of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
“There is a need for the party to embark on grassroots sensitization to inform members about the importance of the new logo,” Abdulkadir said.
