Kano Govt Reschedules School Resumption Date

The Kano State Government has rescheduled the resumption date for all public and private primary and post-primary day schools in the state to Tuesday, 17th September 2024.

Boarding school students, however, will return to school on Monday, 16th September 2024.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment at the State Ministry of Education.

According to the statement, the Commissioner of Education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, explained that the change was made due to the declaration of 16th September 2024 as a public holiday for the celebration of Eid-el Maulud.

“The adjustment is therefore to allow students to celebrate this holy day, which marks the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.

Doguwa also congratulated the Muslim community and urged them to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and patriotism, while continuing to pray for the state and the nation at large.

Parents and guardians were advised to note the new resumption date and ensure full compliance. The statement concluded by wishing students, pupils, and teachers a joyful Maulud celebration and a successful start to the new academic session.
