The Kano State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is experiencing internal changes, as faction leaders Ibrahim Al’Amin Little and Sadiq Aminu Wali express their intention to restore the party’s status in the state.
This announcement came during a recent press conference with PDP stakeholders from all 44 local governments in Kano.
Little, speaking to the stakeholders, highlighted the faction’s aim to strengthen the PDP’s presence in Kano politics, particularly in light of recent challenges.
He criticized the faction led by Malam Ibrahim Shekarau for creating divisions within the party, attributing the current issues to their leadership decisions.
“Our goal is to reunify the party and regain the ground we have lost,” Little stated. “We believe in the principles of the PDP, and we are focused on rebuilding our presence in Kano to ensure competitiveness in future elections.”
The session provided an opportunity for local stakeholders to express their concerns and aspirations for the party’s future. With renewed focus, Little and Wali’s faction seeks to gain support among party members and the community.
The Kano chapter of the PDP is divided into two factions. One faction, led by Yusuf Ado Kibiya as state chairman, is associated with the Shekarau-Bello Hayatu Gwarzo group. The other faction, led by Little and Sadiq Wali, does not recognize Kibiya as the chairman.
