The Kano State Police Command has presented 82 suspects arrested for various criminal activities across the state.
According to the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, who addressed journalists at the Command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano, the suspects were apprehended between the 1st and 14th of this month.
The suspects include 13 individuals allegedly involved in armed robbery, 13 suspected thieves, 35 suspected thugs, 12 suspected drug dealers, five alleged fraudsters, and two suspected motorcycle thieves and kidnappers.
Kiyawa reported that police recovered an AK-47 rifle, three locally made guns, hard drugs, ten mobile phones, and other dangerous weapons from the suspects.
He emphasized the dedication of the Kano State Police Command to uphold law and order.
“Our strategies are yielding the desired results. Therefore, the command will continue to strengthen its multifaceted strategies that revolve around community policing, strategic communication in sensitizing the public on security matters, intelligence-led policing, as well as targeted clearance operations that have effectively dismantled criminal networks, especially along border local government areas of the state,” he stated.
