Rep. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, the member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure federal constituency, has been honored as the Best Lawmaker in Constituency Development by NASS News for the second consecutive year.
The award, presented by the National Assembly News (NASSNEWS) newspaper, recognizes his outstanding contributions to improving the living conditions in his constituency.
During the ceremony, Prince Caleb Omoboye, the National Assembly Bureau Chief for NASSNEWS, commended Hon. Rurum’s efforts.
“This award highlights Hon. Rurum’s exceptional commitment to addressing the needs of his constituency through strategic legislative actions and inclusive initiatives. His proactive approach serves as a benchmark for lawmakers nationwide,” Omoboye stated.
He further detailed Rurum’s developmental projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
“His achievements include the construction of schools, healthcare centers, and road networks, as well as the provision of scholarships and youth empowerment programs that have transformed lives and fostered self-reliance within his community,” Omoboye added.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Kabiru Rurum, who chairs the House Committee on Air Force, expressed gratitude to NASS News and dedicated the award to his constituents.
“This honor is not just for me but for the hardworking and resilient people of my constituency. It motivates me to continue championing their interests and working tirelessly toward sustainable development,” he remarked.
He reiterated his commitment to legislative duties and the well-being of his constituency, stating:
“I will continue doing my best in the National Assembly to ensure that the voices of the people of Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure are heard, and their needs are met through meaningful development.”
Rurum also reflected on the essence of leadership, adding: “Leadership is about service and impact. This recognition is a reminder that our efforts must not wane; instead, we should strive harder to make a difference in the lives of the people who entrusted us with their mandate.”
Last year, Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum was also recognized by NASS News as the Most Active Lawmaker in the current dispensation.
