In his continuing effort to reshuffle the cabinet, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed and redeployed several heads of agencies and special advisers.
According to Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Spokesperson to the Governor, the appointees include Dr. Ibrahim Musa, a public health expert and hematologist from Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), who has been named Special Adviser on Health Services and Personal Physician to the Governor. Sani Musa Danja, a Kannywood actor, has been appointed Special Adviser on Youth and Sports.
Others appointed include Dr. Hadiza Lawan Ahmad as Special Adviser for Investment and Public-Private Partnerships, Barr. Aminu Hussain as Special Adviser on Justice and Constitutional Matters, and Dr. Ismail Lawan Suleiman as Special Adviser on Population. Nasiru Isa Jarma will serve as Special Adviser on NGOs, and Hon. Wada Ibrahim Daho has been named Permanent Commissioner I at the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Hon. Ado Danjummai Wudil is now the Executive Secretary of the Guidance and Counselling Board, Dr. Binta Abubakar has been named Executive Secretary of the Agency for Mass Education, and Hon. Abubakar Ahmad Bichi has been appointed Director General of the Cottage and Street Hawking Agency.
Hon. Abdullahi Yaryasa will join the Assembly Service Commission, and Dr. Yusuf Ya’u Gambo has been named Executive Chairman of the Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination Agency.
Other reassignments include Hon. Kabiru Getso Haruna as Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, Hon. Rabi’u Saleh Gwarzo as Executive Secretary of the Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board, Dr. Kabiru Ado Zakirai as Executive Secretary of the Kano State Library Board, and Dr. Abubakar Musa Yakubu as Medical Director of the Government House Clinic.
Additional appointments include Yusuf Jibrin Oyoyo as Special Adviser on Students’ Matters, Hon. Isa Musa Kumurya as Special Adviser on Marshals, Hajia Fatima Abubakar Amneef as Special Adviser on Enlightenment and Social Mobilization, and Comrade Nura Iro Ma’aji as Special Adviser on Employment.
The appointments take immediate effect.
