Wike: No Regrets Supporting Tinubu

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that he has no regrets for supporting President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.

Wike, a former two-term governor of Rivers State under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made this known during a thanksgiving service organized by the PDP in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas of Rivers State.

At the event, Wike acknowledged the challenges he faced during the presidential elections due to his support for Tinubu, emphasizing that he would make the same decision again.

“I have no regrets, I have no apologies. If the opportunity comes, I will do the same thing,” Wike said.

The Minister also responded to allegations of land grabbing in Abuja, dismissing them as baseless. He stated his commitment to proper land management in the FCT and warned those holding government land to comply with regulations or face revocation.

“I am in charge of lands in Abuja. How will I go and grab what I am in charge of? The right things must be done,” he said.

Wike called the accusations unfounded and stressed his focus on ensuring accountability in the capital territory.

“No matter the cry or propaganda, if you like, give me any name you want to give me; the right thing must be done,” he added.

The Minister also highlighted the differences between his current role and his time as a state governor, acknowledging the challenges of managing the FCT.
