Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is set to distribute school uniforms to over 789,000 pupils in public primary schools across the state to address the issue of out-of-school children.
The event, scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, targets Primary 1 pupils in 7,092 public schools across all 44 Local Government Areas.
The Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, stated, “This administration is determined to reduce the number of out-of-school children in Kano and provide indigent parents with the support they need to meet their children’s educational needs.”
“This gesture demonstrates our unwavering commitment to ensuring that education is not just a privilege but a fundamental right for every child in Kano State,” Waiya added.
The program seeks to encourage school enrollment and reduce financial challenges faced by parents in providing their children with basic education.
