The Chief Executive Officer of Clearview News Desk, Sam Odion Bello, has commended the efforts of Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, the member representing Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, in reconciling Rabiu Kwankwaso and Umar Ganduje.
Speaking during a radio interview in Kano on Thursday, Jibrin described the feud between the two political figures as unfortunate and harmful to the state’s progress.
He expressed determination to ensure reconciliation, stating, “If need be, we will force Kwankwaso and Ganduje to reconcile.” He also called on well-meaning citizens to support this effort for the benefit of Kano and Nigeria at large.
Odion Bello applauded Jibrin’s efforts and urged Kano indigenes to embrace genuine reconciliation between the two leaders, who he noted have much to contribute to the state’s development.
He remarked, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God,” while reacting to Jibrin’s efforts to mediate between Kwankwaso and Ganduje.
Jibrin, who serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Habitat, described the feud as a significant setback for Kano. He noted, “They were friends for a long time, and they started good things together, but what is happening between them is sad and painful.”
He emphasized the challenges of reconciling the duo, acknowledging that certain individuals benefiting from the strained relationship would resist such efforts. Bello prayed for divine guidance for those obstructing the reconciliation process.
Highlighting the contributions of both leaders, Bello stressed the importance of allowing them to bring their wealth of experience to bear on Kano. He noted Kwankwaso’s career progression from the Kano State Civil Service to Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, two-term governor, Minister of Defence, Senator, Ambassador, and presidential candidate. Similarly, he detailed Ganduje’s rise from civil servant and FCT Director to Commissioner, Deputy Governor, Executive Secretary, two-term governor, and now Chairman of the ruling party.
