The Governing Council of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has appointed Professor Adamu Ahmed as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.
The announcement was made during the 209th (Special) Council meeting, chaired by Pro-Chancellor of the University, Dr Mahmud Yayale Ahmed.
A statement from the Public Affairs Directorate, Office of the Vice-Chancellor confirmed the appointment. Prof Ahmed, a lecturer at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, has previously served as the Director of the Directorate of University Advancement at ABU.
He is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kano.
