Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has emphasized the need for gender equity and women’s participation in governance and societal development.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday, the governor said his administration is implementing policies to support women in leadership, business, and other sectors.
“As part of our commitment to gender equity, we are ensuring that women have greater opportunities in governance, leadership, and economic development,” Governor Yusuf stated. “We recognize the critical role women play in nation-building, and our administration will continue to create avenues for them to contribute meaningfully.”
Speaking on International Women’s Day 2025, he reaffirmed his government’s pledge to sustain initiatives that improve women’s welfare, including access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
“Kano State will set the pace in gender inclusivity across Nigeria. We remain fully committed to fostering an environment where women can thrive economically and otherwise,” he said.
