Kano Police Arrest Principal Suspect in Brutal Killing of Rano DPO

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the principal suspect in the killing of Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Division, CSP Baba Ali, who was murdered while on duty.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, a total of 41 suspects have been arrested in connection with the case. Among them is the person believed to have led the attack.

“The Police are working tirelessly to ensure that no stone is left unturned in apprehending all those involved in this dastardly act,” the statement said.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said efforts are ongoing to ensure justice is served.

“We are fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of all lives and property in the State,” CP Bakori said. “The Police will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all perpetrators are brought to justice.”

The killing of CSP Baba Ali has drawn widespread condemnation from residents, community leaders, and civil society groups.

The Police urged citizens to stay calm and continue providing information that could help the investigation.

“We will continue to stand united in our resolve to protect and serve our community, and we are determined to ensure that those who seek to undermine our efforts are held accountable,” the Police stated.

The Command also acknowledged the late officer, stating: “The Command honours the memory of CSP Baba Ali and commends the bravery and dedication of our officers and men, who continue to put their lives on the line to keep our State safe.”
