Justice is to give someone what he deserves and serves someone fairly and justly. And to be kind and compassionate, is what is being expected of a good leader, no matter who is looking for justice whether is a political ally or not in a democratic setting.
These are the rare exemplary leadership and virtues of building trust and confidence that the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has shown when he paid the severance packages for the former councilors, chairmen and vice chairmen that served from 2014 to 2014, including furniture allowance for the current serving councilors to the total tune of nearly Sixteen Billion naira.
Abba Kabir Yusuf is the man that keeps to his promise, anywhere he makes it he will surely fulfil it. Campaign promises that the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made and keeps fulfilling them are a great testimony to my submission.
He promised to pay these long-standing entitlements to the people that deserve justice after serving to their father land but, alas!!!! Their political allies could not heed to their calls for their entitlements. The people’s governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, wades in to say, I am here for you, “the moneys are your entitlements you must be paid.”
This is a rare gem in the politics of vendetta, which is visible in our today’s Nigerian politics, but Abba Kabir Yusuf, appeared different. He believes in justice and compassion to the people he governs irrespective of your political affiliation, religion or tribe.
Wednesday 28th May, 2025, It was really a D-Day especially for the former councilors served from 2014 to 2024 when the governor paid into their accounts instantly at the Coronation Hall, their severance package they so long dreamt to get, some had even lose hope, but Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, rekindles their hope and they beam with smiles on that D-day that became memorable and entered into the anals of history in Kano, entire north and Nigeria.
What baffles a lot of the people in the historic Hall was the instant payment, beneficiaries receiving alert as the governor launched the payment. The Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, accompanied by the Accountant General of Kano State Hajiya Jamilah Magaji Abdullahi and the Bankers made history that would never be forgotten.
On that memorable moment here is what the people’s Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf described it, “this moment is not mere ceremonial; it is symbolic of our administration’s unwavering commitment to upholding dignity, fairness, and accountability in public service. Today’s event reaffirmed our promise to honour those who served, and continue to serve, with distinction and dedication at the grassroots level.”
He added, “by settling these longstanding liabilities, we are not only providing long overdue relief to deserving individuals, but also restoring public trust and reinforcing institutional integrity across the governance structure of Kano State.
He is compassionate, humble, and calm; but when you see his eyes reddish and raising his voice; someone was unjustly treated. He hates injustice, and maltreatment of human beings.
I believe, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Kano State Governor, gives people their dues as at when due and have a heart of gold, hence he is the man of justice and compassion.
