Tinubu’s Public Affairs Aide, Aliyu Audu, Resigns

Aliyu Audu, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, has stepped down from his position.

In a resignation letter dated June 8 and addressed through the Chief of Staff to the President, Audu said his decision was effective immediately.

“I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately. I thank the President for the opportunity to serve my fatherland under your visionary leadership,” he wrote.

He also acknowledged the role played by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in securing his appointment. “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration,” he added.

Expressing well wishes for the President, Audu concluded, “Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem and continued prayers for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation.”

As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency has yet to issue an official response to his resignation.
