Former Vice President Namadi Sambo on Tuesday visited Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, at the Government House in Kaduna. The Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, was also part of the closed-door meeting.
The visit comes amid ongoing tensions surrounding the Zazzau Emirate, following a petition by the deposed Wazirin Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad-Aminu, to the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
The petitioner is seeking the reversal of Ambassador Bamalli’s appointment as the 19th Emir of Zazzau.
While the visit has stirred speculation about Sambo’s potential defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), no official statement has been made regarding his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Sources close to the meeting suggested that discussions also touched on regional political issues and the unfolding emirate crisis.
