The member representing Tsanyawa/Kunchi Federal Constituency of Kano State, Hon. Engr. Sani Bala, has returned to the classroom — three decades after earning his first degree.
In a post on his verified Facebook page, Bala said he has begun lectures at the Faculty of Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, for a Master’s in Renewable Energy.
“I commenced lectures today at the Faculty of Engineering, ABU Zaria, for a Master’s in Renewable Energy, exactly thirty years after I obtained my Bachelor of Engineering (E) from BUK in June 1995,” he wrote.
He also mentioned that he obtained additional qualifications after his first degree.
“Though in between, I obtained a PGD (M) and an MBA in 2003 and 2006, respectively,” he added.
Bala said his return to school is aimed at sending a message.
“This is just to serve as a source of motivation and encouragement to the younger ones. It’s never too late to start,” he wrote.
He ended his message with a prayer: “Allah kasa ya amfani duniyarmu da lahirarmu,” which means, “May Allah make it beneficial for our lives in this world and the hereafter.”
