Hajiya Rabi Idris (Hajiya Umma), the mother of Malam Hamza Idris, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Trust Newspapers, has died.
She passed away early Sunday in Kano, according to a statement by Ismail Mudashir, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy Senate President and a former colleague of Hamza Idris at Daily Trust.
“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un! The mother of Malam Hamza Idris, the Editor-In-Chief of Daily Trust Newspapers, Hajiya Rabi (Umma), died this morning in Kano,” Mudashir said.
Her funeral prayer (Janaza) was scheduled for 11 a.m. at Dorawar ‘Yan Kifi road, Rijiyar Zaki area of Kano.
“May Allah SWT grant her Jannatul Firdausi and give Mal Hamza and all those she left behind the strength to bear her passage,” he said. “Allah ya jikan ta da rahama. Amin Ya Allah.”
