President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended birthday wishes to his Chief of Staff, Olufemi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, who turns a year older today, June 25.
In a statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Tinubu acknowledged Gbajabiamila’s involvement in Nigeria’s legislative process.
“President Tinubu underscores Gbajabiamila’s salutary contributions to Nigeria’s fledgling democracy and the legislature, where he spent much of his political career,” the statement said.
Gbajabiamila, a lawyer, was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2003 to represent Surulere Constituency in Lagos. He held several positions including Minority Leader, Majority Leader, and later served as Speaker from 2019 to 2023.
“President Tinubu also notes Gbajabiamila’s commitment to the development of Lagos State, particularly his Surulere constituency,” Onanuga stated.
Tinubu also called on Gbajabiamila to maintain his role in supporting the administration’s current policy direction.
“The President encourages his Chief of Staff to continue supporting him in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda to create a better, more economically viable, and more prosperous Nigeria,” the statement added.
