The media community in Jigawa State is mourning the death of Comrade Fahad Malam Madori, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), who died on the night of Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Until his death, Fahad worked as an Information Officer with the Jigawa State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sport and Culture, serving in Kaugama and Birniwa local government areas.
In a statement signed by the Secretary of the NUJ Jigawa State Council, Comrade Aisha Ahmed, the union described him as “a dedicated journalist and passionate unionist who stood for the values of truth, professionalism, and unity among media practitioners.”
The statement added, “His commitment to the development of journalism and his exemplary service to the state remain indelible in our hearts.”
The union also recalled his time as chairman, saying his leadership was marked by “integrity, selflessness, and dedication to the welfare of journalists.”
“We share in this great loss and pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, grants him eternal rest and forgives his shortcomings. May Jannatul Firdaus be his final abode,” the NUJ said.
