A youth leader in Zakirai, Gabasawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Comrade Rabiu Abba Zakirai, has expressed concern over the neglect of two key infrastructure projects affecting the town’s development and daily life.
In a statement on Sunday, Rabiu highlighted the stalled upgrade of the Zakirai Primary Healthcare Centre to a secondary facility, noting that repeated promises have not been fulfilled.
“This project is crucial for improving healthcare delivery and reducing the burden on other healthcare facilities in the area,” he said. “We urge the relevant authorities to prioritize this project and commence work immediately.”
He also criticized the poor condition of a 5-kilometer road construction project in Zakirai, describing it as substandard and dangerous, especially during the rainy season.
“The road has become a hazard, causing difficulties for residents and disrupting economic activities. The substandard workmanship is a clear indication that the needs and concerns of the local population were not adequately considered,” he added.
Rabiu urged the authorities to reassess and repair the road to meet acceptable standards.
He stressed that his comments were not driven by political motives.
“I have made this statement purely in the interest of promoting development in our town and region, without any political undertones or affiliations,” he said.
