Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in London to accompany the remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari back to Nigeria for burial in Daura, Katsina State.
Shettima traveled early Monday morning with the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I arrived in London in the company of the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on the directive of my boss, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari,” Shettima said.
He was received in London by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum.
Buhari died in London after a prolonged illness. His remains will be flown to Nigeria for burial in line with Islamic rites.
