Former Kano State Governor and Senator, Ibrahim Shekarau, has said that the late President Muhammadu Buhari always placed the interest of Nigerians above all else.
Reacting to Buhari’s death in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025, Shekarau issued a brief statement on Monday expressing sadness over the news.
“Since 2002, when I joined politics, my close interaction with the late President revealed his strong passion for Nigeria and its people. In my engagement with him, people’s interest always superseded any other interest,” he said.
Shekarau described Buhari as a committed and patriotic leader whose absence will be felt across the country.
He ended his remarks with a short prayer: “We pray Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannah Firdausi.”
