Top government officials, politicians, and business figures have begun arriving in Katsina for the funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Those in attendance include Hadiza Bala Usman, a presidential aide; Ibrahim Kabir Masari, political adviser; and ministers in charge of health, housing, information, and budget planning.
Also present are former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Army Chief Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin; Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu; and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who chairs the Governors’ Forum, are also in Katsina.
Other governors who have arrived include Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Nasir Idris (Kebbi), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Ahmed Aliyu (Sokoto), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), and Bassey Edet Otu (Cross River). Former Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is also among them.
Businessmen Aliko Dangote and Sayyu Dantata are among private sector figures who have come to pay their last respects.
