Ex-Minister on Trial for Multi-Billion Naira Fraud Gets Traditional Title 

The Katsina Emirate has appointed former Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika as one of six new district heads across the state.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Emirate Council, Alhaji Bello Ifo, and shared with journalists on Saturday in Katsina.

According to the statement, Sirika is now the District Head of Shargalle (Marusan Katsina).

The other appointees are Sanusi Kabir Usman, District Head of Shinkafi (Karshin Katsina); Ahmad Abdulmumini K. Usman, District Head of Dankama (Dan-Majen Katsina); Abubakar Dardisu, FCNA, Mni, District Head of Muduru (Sarkin Mudurun Katsina); Gambo Abdullahi Dabai, District Head of Dabai (Dausayin Katsina); and Muhammadu Dikko Radda, District Head of Radda (Gwagwaren Katsina).

Sirika, who served as minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari, is currently facing trial alongside his brother, Ahmad Sirika, and his company, Enginos Nigeria Limited, over allegations of a N19.4 billion fraud involving aviation contracts.

Justice Suleiman Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory High Court granted Hadi and Ahmad Sirika bail in the sum of N100 million each with two sureties.
