President Bola Tinubu will on Thursday, August 14, begin a two-nation tour of Japan and Brazil, with a brief stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said the President will attend the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22.

The meeting, with the theme “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa”, will focus on economic growth, private investment, innovation, and building a stable, secure continent.

Tinubu will also hold bilateral talks and meet with top executives of Japanese firms with stakes in Nigeria.

TICAD, launched in 1993, is organised by Japan in partnership with the UN, UNDP, African Union Commission, and World Bank.

From Japan, Tinubu will head to Brasilia for a two-day state visit from August 24 to 25 at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

He is expected to meet Lula, attend a business forum, and witness the signing of deals to boost trade and cooperation.
