Landslide Rerun Victory Confirms NNPP Kano’s Top Choice — Kwankwaso

Former Kano State governor and national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed delight at the party’s triumph in the Bagwai/Shanono State Constituency by-election.

Kwankwaso, who was the NNPP presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, applauded the electorate for standing firmly behind the party in Saturday’s poll.

“I wish to extend my profound gratitude to the good people of Bagwai and Shanono State Constituency for making a strong statement by voting the NNPP,” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page.

Describing the outcome as a clear reaffirmation of the party’s acceptance in Kano, the former governor said the victory highlights the strong support the NNPP enjoys across the state.

“The landslide victory for Ali Lawan Alhassan leaves no doubt about where the loyalty of our people lies, today and beyond,” he added.

Senator Kwankwaso also commended party loyalists and stakeholders for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the polls.

“I also commend our political leaders and followers for their commitment to ensuring a peaceful and fruitful democratic process in the by-election,” he noted.

He called on the newly elected lawmaker to justify the confidence reposed in him by prioritising the interests of his constituents, assuring residents of Bagwai and Shanono that the NNPP-led government remains focused on delivering dividends of democracy at all levels.
