Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the appointment of four young aides to bolster youth development and empowerment programmes under the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Announcing the appointments in a statement on Sunday, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, said the move was in line with the governor’s commitment to run a “youth-friendly administration.”
“I had the immense privilege of presenting appointment letters to four hardworking and vibrant youths,” he said, noting that they would serve in various capacities to enhance youth-focused initiatives in the state.
Those appointed are: Auwalu Shuaibu Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Youth Development; Abbas Tijjani Bala Kalarawi, SSA on Youth Empowerment; Ado Iliya Muhammad, Special Reporter; and Yakubu Salisu, Personal Assistant (PA) on Youth Development.
Abbas Tijjani Bala Kalarawi is a son of prominent Kano-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Tijjani Bala Kalarawi.
Kwankwaso explained that Salisu’s appointment was made in honour of his late brother, Abdullahi Salisu Furfura.
“These young leaders are committed to making a positive impact in our community,” he added.
