Kano Varsity Bans ‘Fake Pregnancy Day’ Event

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH), Wudil, Kano, has halted plans by some female students to stage an event tagged “Fake Pregnancy Day.”

Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi, Deputy Dean, Information and Public Relations, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday in Kano.

He said the decision followed a circular issued by the Dean, Student Affairs Division, Abdulkadir Muhammad Dambazau, who described the event as strange to the institution and not approved by the University authorities.

According to him, organising such an activity violated the institution’s code of conduct and contradicted its values and standards.

“The University views this matter with utmost seriousness and will do everything possible to protect its name,” the circular read.

He noted that the students behind the plan had already been identified and referred to the Disciplinary Committee for appropriate action.

Dambazau urged students to always act as worthy ambassadors of the institution and seek proper clearance before organisingany activity.
