Political heavyweights, business associates storm Kano for Rurum’s daughter’s wedding

Prominent political figures on Saturday attended the wedding Fatiha of Khadijah, daughter of Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, member representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency.

The ceremony took place at the Kundila Central Mosque of Masjidil-Rahma along Maiduguri Road, Kano, where Khadijah was given in marriage to Muzammil, son of businessman Alhaji Usman Bello.

The Chief Imam conducted the rites, with the groom paying ₦250,000 as dowry.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented by his aide, Ibrahim Kabir Masari. Governors Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi—who was represented by his Deputy, Mohammed Auwal Jatau—also attended.

Others present included former APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; former Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi-Ata; Senator Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila; and former House Leader, Alhassan Ado Doguwa.

Businessman Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano of A.A. Rano Group, along with more than 120 serving federal and state lawmakers and other business associates, was also in attendance.

Speaking after the event, Rurum said, “I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sending a delegation to represent him. I also appreciate Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for calling me and sending his representatives despite his tight schedule. To my colleagues in the National Assembly, former leaders, governors, business associates, and friends who came from far and near, I remain grateful.”
