The National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sulaiman Argungu, says the party’s victory in the recent supplementary election in Kano is a demonstration of grassroots mobilization and purposeful leadership.
Argungu stated this in an interview posted by Symfoni TV, where he dismissed claims that the APC engages in vote buying during elections.
He said the party encourages its members, candidates and leaders to focus on mobilizing voters rather than resorting to financial inducements.
“We don’t give money to anybody to go and buy votes. We believe in open democracy,” he said.
He explained that the decision of the APC National Chairman to personally lead campaigns in states was a deliberate strategy to inspire confidence among members and show commitment to the party’s success.
“To show purposeful leadership, that was why the new brand national chairman of our great party decided to go out himself during the campaign to be the soul of these states, so that we encourage our people,” Argungu said.
He added that this approach contributed to the party’s victory in one of the constituencies in Kano State, as well as successes in other parts of the country.
Argungu also said he monitored the exercise from the APC Situation Room throughout the weekend, noting that there were no reports of malpractice except for minor issues in Anambra State, which he personally addressed.
