Armed men killed one person and abducted two women during an overnight raid on Kwanar Dangora community in Kiru Local Government Area of Kano State, residents and security sources said on Friday.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred at about 12:30 a.m. when “hoodlums, in large numbers and armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the residence of one Alhaji Ibrahim at Kwanar Dangora.”
The assailants abducted Ibrahim’s two wives, identified as Safara’u Ibrahim and Attine Ibrahim, according to local sources.
“In the process, one Abdul Usman, 27, of the same address, was shot dead by the attackers,” a source said.
“Scene of the incident was visited, the corpse was released to his relatives for burial. Investigation has commenced and efforts are being intensified to rescue the victims unhurt, trace and arrest the culprits,” the source added.
As at the time of compiling this report, the Kano State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
