Tinubu Sacks Aide on Digital Economy, Umunubo

President Bola Tinubu on Monday dismissed Fegho Umunubo, his Special Assistant on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of the Vice President, ending his role in the administration with immediate effect.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House, who said Mr. Umunubo “no longer represents the Tinubu administration in any capacity.”

The statement warned that “henceforth, anyone who interfaces with him in the name of President Tinubu’s administration does so at his or her own risk,” a rare public caution from the presidency.

The directive, which appeared aimed at drawing a sharp line between Mr. Umunubo and the government, urged “all stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy to be so guided.”

No official reason was given for the aide’s dismissal.
