Ex-FCT Minister Solomon Ewuga Dies at 70

Solomon Ewuga, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and senator, has died at the age of 70, his family said on Tuesday.

Ewuga died after a prolonged illness, according to relatives.

He first came to prominence as deputy governor under then-Governor Abdullahi Adamu before being appointed minister of state for the FCT, where he played a role in the development of Nigeria’s capital.

Ewuga later represented Nasarawa North in the 7th National Assembly, where he was known as a strong voice for his constituency.

In December 2023, he joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) after years with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), underscoring his ability to adapt in Nigeria’s shifting political landscape.

“His career was marked by commitment, resilience, and political versatility,” a family member told reporters.
