Gov Yusuf Names Maude AG, Creates Livestock Ministry with Aliyu as Commissioner

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Friday swore in two new commissioners and assigned them portfolios as part of his cabinet reshuffle.

Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, a senior advocate of Nigeria, was appointed Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, while Associate Professor Aliyu Isah Aliyu will head the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.

In addition, Salisu Muhammad Tahir was sworn in as Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.

The ceremony took place at the Governor’s Lodge in Kwankwasiyya City during the opening of the 32nd State Executive Council meeting, according to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Yusuf urged the appointees to carry out their duties with integrity and stressed the need for collaboration within the cabinet. He reiterated his administration’s priorities in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and job creation.
