More than 300 motorcycle enthusiasts from across Nigeria, Africa, and Europe are expected to gather in Kano for an international bikers’ festival, “The Gathering 2025,” organisers said on Sunday.
The four-day event, scheduled for November 1–4, 2025, is being organised by the Kano United Bikers Association to promote adventure, cultural exchange, and tourism in the northern Nigerian city.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Mohammed Rabiu Abubakar, told reporters that the festival will feature motorcycle parades, speed contests, cultural exhibitions, charity outreach programmes, and tourism promotion sessions.
Abubakar said the event has received support from the Kano State Government and key security and transport agencies to ensure safety throughout the celebration.
“We have worked closely with the police, road safety corps, and health officials to guarantee the safety and comfort of all guests,” Abubakar said. “This festival is not just about biking; it’s about unity, culture, and giving back to the community.”
As part of its community outreach, the association will visit orphanages, donate medical supplies to Asiya Bayero Hospital, and pay courtesy calls to traditional institutions, including the Emir of Kano’s Palace and Gidan Makama Museum.
A culture-themed gala and award night will close the festival, recognising outstanding bikers and partner organisations for contributions to biking culture, safety, and social development.
Abubakar said the event would boost Kano’s economy through increased hotel bookings, transportation, and local business activity.
“Our goal is to make Kano a major destination for motorcycle tourism in Africa,” he said. “This gathering will put our city on the global biking map and highlight the richness of our traditions.”
With hundreds of riders expected to parade through Kano’s streets, the city is preparing for a colourful celebration of culture, adventure, and brotherhood.
