After 63 Years Rano Chief Imam Retires, Successor Appointed

The Emir of Rano, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Isa Umar, has appointed Malam Mansur Nasiru Hassan Imam as the new Chief Imam of the Rano Central Juma’at Mosque, with Malam Sani Rabi’u as his Second Deputy Imam.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by the Secretary for Information of the Rano Emirate Council, Malam Nasiru Habu Faragai.

The appointment follows the retirement of the former Chief Imam, Malam Nasiru Hassan Imam, who served for 63 years.

In a statement, the Emir commended the outgoing leaders, saying, “I sincerely thank Malam Nasiru Hassan Imam and his deputy for their commitment to guiding the faithful over the decades. Their service has greatly contributed to the spiritual and social well-being of our community.”

He urged the newly appointed leaders to serve with integrity and dedication, adding, “I call on Malam Mansur Nasiru Hassan Imam and Malam Sani Rabi’u to discharge their duties with honesty, devotion, and in strict accordance with Islamic teachings, and to promote unity among all Imams in the Emirate.”
