Bayero University, Kano (BUK) female handball team has edged Adamawa State University, Mubi, 5–4 in a thrilling encounter at the ongoing 27th Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA) competition holding in Jos, Plateau State.
The narrow victory came shortly after the BUK ladies held the host institution, University of Jos, to a 6–6 draw in their opening match, a result that had already signaled their determination to make a mark in the tournament.
In a statement posted on the university’s official social media handle, BUK said the team “continued their impressive run at the ongoing 27th NUGA Games in Jos with a hard-fought 5–4 victory over Adamawa State University, Mubi.”
Led by Coach Auwalu Yakubu Dankano, the BUK team displayed what the university described as “great composure, teamwork, and determination throughout the game,” sealing another memorable win for the institution.
“It was yet another moment of celebration for Bayero University, Kano, as the team’s performance drew cheers from supporters who hailed their fighting spirit and winning mentality,” the statement added.
