The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of Mohammed Adamu Dankwara as the new Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin.
According to the statement, DIG Dankwara takes over from DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya, who recently retired after “over three decades of distinguished and meritorious service.”
Before his elevation, Dankwara served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. Hundeyin said the senior officer had “demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to duty” in his previous assignments.
The IGP, while congratulating him on his new responsibility, expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen key administrative operations within the Force.
“The posting is in line with the IGP’s commitment to repositioning the Force for greater efficiency and effectiveness in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” the statement read.
Hundeyin added that the Nigeria Police Force “remains resolute in its mission to ensure the safety and security of all citizens through strategic leadership placements and performance excellence.”
