The Zone One Police Headquarters, Kano, has announced the appointment of DSP Abdullahi Hussaini as the new Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO).
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Kano by the outgoing ZPPRO, CSP Bashir Muhammad.
Muhammad said the change followed routine administrative adjustments within police formations.
“DSP Abdullahi Hussaini has assumed duty as the new Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Zone One Headquarters, Kano,” he said.
He added that Hussaini took over from him following his posting to the Zonal Operations Department.
According to the statement, Hussaini was, until his new appointment, the Second-in-Command, Police Public Relations Unit, Kano State Command.
The statement noted that the new spokesperson, a graduate of the Police Academy, Wudil, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 2018.
It added that Hussaini also completed the Operational Leadership and Command Course at the Police Staff College, Jos, in November 2025.
Muhammad quoted the new ZPPRO as pledging to uphold professionalism and strengthen police–community relations.
“I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and transparency while ensuring accurate and timely information dissemination,” Hussaini said.
He called on the public to accord the new officer maximum cooperation to enhance police–public relations in the zone.
