President Bola Tinubu has transmitted another list of non-career ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
The list, read on Thursday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary, includes the immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State and former Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas; former presidential aide, Ita Enang; former Imo First Lady, Chioma Ohakim; and a former Minister of Interior and ex-Chief of Army Staff, Abdulrahman Dambazau.
In the letter conveying the nominations, Tinubu urged the Senate to give accelerated consideration to the nominees to enable the Federal Government fill strategic diplomatic postings.
Akpabio subsequently referred the nominees to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs for screening and asked the committee to report back within one week.
