The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has relieved the Acting Executive Chairman, Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr Michael Ango, of his appointment.
This is contained in a statement issued late Friday by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister, Mr Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the decision takes immediate effect.
It said the minister had directed the most senior official in the FCT-IRS to assume leadership of the agency without delay.
“The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service, Mr Michael Ango,” Olayinka said.
He added that the most senior officer had been mandated to take over the running of the revenue agency immediately.
The statement did not give reasons for Ango’s removal.
