Ex-Kano Speaker Rurum weds in Kaduna

Former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly and member representing Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, has married his bride, Saratu Ibrahim, in Kaduna State.

The wedding fatiha, which took place on Saturday in Kaduna, attracted top political figures from Kano State and other parts of the country.

Among those who graced the ceremony were the Senator representing Kano South, Sen. Suleiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila; the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Rep. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar; Rep. Sagir Ibrahim Koki; Rep. Engr. Ibrahim Hamisu Chidari; and former lawmaker, Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada.

Also in attendance was the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, alongside other party leaders, political associates and well-wishers.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Rurum expressed gratitude to all those who attended the wedding, describing their presence as a great honour. He thanked political leaders, friends and associates for their prayers, support and goodwill, and prayed that Allah would reward them abundantly.

The sadaki for the marriage was fixed at N1 million.

The ceremony was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, with clerics and guests offering prayers for a peaceful and blessed married life for the couple.
